Bryson City = Trout City
We have arrived! The stocking trucks showed up late last week and put 5400 trout in a 2 mile section right through the heart of Bryson City. This newest Delayed Harvest stretch also is designated as a Mountain Heritage Trout Stream which enables anglers to purchase a license for $7. Along with the Mountain Heritage program comes a rental program where beginers can rent a rod and reel with the purchase of the permit. Deservedly so, Bryson City has earned the nickname "Trout City"!
We seriously have trout everywhere you turn in Bryson City and Swain County. 2,200 miles of streams for trout between the Cherokee Waters, Nantahala, Great Smoky Mountains and of course the Tuckaseegee. So many trout steams you don't need a trail map to find them!
