Late October Fishing Report
Finally! Fall temperatures have arrived in Western North Carolina! We have had almost a week now of overnight lows reaching into the upper 30s and day time highs in the low to mid 60s. This gets the water temps close to that magic number of the mid 50s for peak feeding conditions. Flows on the Tuckaseegee River in Webster and Dillsboro have been very conducive to wading due to "No Generation Scheduled" from either Fork from Duke Energy. Bryson City is also at its best for wading right now. With low and clear water anglers will need to drop down to 5x Fluorocarbon Tippet and looking to go to 6x if fishing seems slow. Below is a list of flies that performed great on yesterdays guided float trips. Give us a call for questions or if you want to get on the water with one of our guides.
